Buying Tickets in advance

The majority of tickets for Centre, Courts 1 and 2 are sold in advance by a ballot which starts in August of every year. The ballot is now closed but details for 2009 are here.

Buying Tickets on the Day of Play

Wimbledon is one of the few great sporting events where it is possible to buy tickets on the day.

About 500 tickets are kept back for sale on the day for Centre Court, Courts 1 and 2 (apart from the final 4 days of play).

6,000 Ground Tickets are available for each day. These give you entry to the grounds, access to 'Murray Mount' and to Courts 3-19.

Tickets are sold one per person with no exceptions.

The ticket office is open every day during Wimbledon from 8am until close of play.
Tel: 020 8971 2473 (from the UK). +44 20 8971 2473 (from overseas).
Important: the ticket office helpline can only deal with enquiries - it is not a box office and is unable to sell tickets over the phone.

Queuing Information

Queuing for tickets has changed this year. For the first time, there will be only one queue. To join this, you will need to go to Wimbledon Park (Car Park 10).

If you're after a ticket for Centre Court or Courts 1/2 you will need to turn up the night before and be prepared to camp.

This year, instead of having to camp on the pavement, facilities are being laid on in Wimbledon Park.

When you arrive to queue, Stewards will give you a number according to your place in the queue before you spend the night in the park. At 6am the next morning, you will need to pack away your camping equipment and leave your belongings in special lockers.

You will then be directed to a queue outside the grounds where your number will be swapped for a wristband according to what Court you are queuing for.

Once you have reached the front of the queue, your wristband will be exchanged for a ticket.

It is possible to join the queue at any time of the day and Ground Passes are resold when people leave throughout the day.

Opening times

The Gates open at 10.30am. Play starts at 12.00 midday, unless otherwise advertised, on Courts 2-19 for the first week. Play on Centre and Court Number 1 starts at 1.00 pm apart from the final weekend. If the grounds are full to capacity the gates will be closed.

Ticket Availability

Around 500 tickets each for Centre and No.1 Court reserved seats are available daily. However, Centre Court tickets for the last four days of the Tournament are presold.

Approximately 500 No.2 Court seats go on sale for the days where a full number of matches are being played. By the end of the second week there may well not be a full schedule on this court.

Middle Saturday
Due to safety concerns, this year's arrangements for the middle Saturday will be no different from those on the first nine days of the event. The number of Centre Court tickets on sale on the day will be around 500 in line with No.1 and No.2 Courts.

Ground passes

Approximately 6000 ground tickets are available each day. The actual number sold each day will depend on factors such as the number of people already in the grounds, the number of courts in play and the weather. Ground tickets entitle use of the No.2 Court standing enclosure and unreserved seating and standing round Courts 3-19. These passes cost between £12-18.

Tickets are sold one per person with no exceptions. In addition to this no spaces are allowed to be saved in a queue. If you need to leave the queue for any reason please notify either a steward or the people next to you in the queue to avoid any problems when you return.

Left Luggage

New security means that only one bag per person is now allowed. This bag cannot be larger than 45cm x 30cm x 30xm.
Please note that no picnic hampers, cool boxes or briefcases are now allowed within the grounds. Corkscrews are also now banned.
There are no left luggage facilities inside the grounds. Left luggage facilities are provided at a number of locations OUTSIDE the grounds.

Ticket Touts
Do not buy tickets from touts, they will not gain you entry.
